2012 (Not the movie)

Well, it's a new year officially.  I know it's been official for 19 hours now, but in my defense I was playing a New Years Eve show in Alabama and got home around 5:00 am.  It worked out though because it was almost like I got to celebrate two times since I was in Central time zone.  I will miss playing with that talented group of musicians.  It's been a blast!

As mentioned already, 2012 will bring a lot of exciting changes for us.  We'll be moving to Charlotte probably around the summer.  Kathy and I will be taking a trip up there in a couple of weeks to visit a school for Jordan and also spend some time with other co-workers from around the country who are relocating as well.  We hope to get a lot accomplished on this trip, but at the same time treat it as a mini-vacation.  It also helps that my company is taking care of the tab.

Even though I am excited about the move, I'm trying my best to not build myself up to move into Utopia.  For example, I was parked at the Chick-fil-a on Eagle's Landing Parkway yesterday during the Saturday lunch hour rush.  I was right across from the drive-through window.  For those of you familiar with this store, you know that when you exit the drive-through lane it's left turn only.  Traffic flows one way around the restaurant.  While I was waiting, I counted 5 people make the right turn there, and block anyone from entering into the restaurant parking lot.  Every car that did this was from Henry or Clayton County, and I'm willing to bet it was not their first trip to that Chick-fil-a.  All I kept thinking to myself was, "people in Charlotte won't do this".  I know that's naive of me to think that way, LOL.   That's what I trying not to do.  I know Charlotte will have it's imperfections as well.

We've talked to several people already, both living in Charlotte and living here.  So far, we have not have one person say anything negative about the move.  What do you think?
