Charlotte!!

Kathy and I spent last weekend in Charlotte and we absolutely loved it.  The city is so clean and easy to get around in and everyone we met was so nice.  We were talking about how there are things we'd do in Charlotte that we never do in Atlanta.  Saturday morning we were supposed to meet with our realtor just outside of Charlotte, and when we turned out of the hotel the main street was closed for a parade.  So, we just went straight and figured our way around.  It was something I would try and avoid in Atlanta, but it was a breeze in Charlotte.

Speaking of our realtor in Charlotte, that has been such a pleasant experience.  After talking with her the first time on the phone, we found out that her daughter is the same age as Jordan and goes to the school that we want to put Jordan in.  She actually met us at the school on Friday when we drove up for our school tour.  We were very impressed with the school and from everything we see, Jordan is going to love it there.

We found several houses we liked on Saturday, all within a few miles of the school.  One of them would be 6 miles from the school and only 16 miles for my commute to work.  I use the word "commute" lightly.  I realize it was the weekend, but driving around the area we're looking at living in on Saturday afternoon was so pleasant and stress free.  For you Henry Countyians, you know what it's like driving through the McDonough square and Jonesboro Rd on Saturday afternoon, and this was nothing like that.  Oh, and we saw NO ROAD CONSTRUCTION!!  I'm sure you're probably thinking we're going to be living out in the country or something, but that's totally not the case.  The houses we are looking at are 5 miles from nice shopping malls and restaurants, they just don't have that congested traffic that you would expect.

Saturday night, the company was giving Charlotte Bobcat's tickets away.  Kathy and I turned them down to go out to dinner with some co-workers.  The next morning we found out that the tickets were in a suite, and during the game Michael Jordan (yes, him) came up to the suite and thanked everyone for coming to the game.  Totally missed out on that one!  Guess we should have went to the game.

We love our family and friends here in Georgia, but we are so ready to move.  Our current house is for sale, so be sure and tell your friends or family that are looking for a house in the Ola school district.  Sharon folks, it's 1.5 miles from the church!   Our listing agent is great, and she showed the house the second day it was listed.  Pray for a quick and prosperous sale.

That's all for now!
